How to make Lockdown more productive.
You hear the word “quarantine” and automatically hear the long list of things we’re not allowed to do these days. But perhaps you should think of all the opportunities this slower lifestyle offers. Instead of sitting around worrying about coronavirus or feeling lonely, use your downtime to learn new skills, pamper yourself, and reconnect with what makes you happy. Just remember: It’s called downtime for a reason. So, don’t see this list as pressure or guilt to be productive every single moment but simply some ideas of things to do to get you through this tough time with your sanity intact. Here's top 5 things that you can do in this lockdown:
5. Make a post-lockdown list
Make a list of all the things you are going to do when life gets back to normal. Keep adding to the list whenever you think of something new. This lockdown won't last forever, and it's good to have things to look forward to once it's all over.
4. Meditation
The meditation-and-the-brain research has been rolling in steadily for a number of years now, with new studies coming out just about every week to illustrate some new benefit of meditation. Or, rather, some ancient benefit that is just now being confirmed with fMRI or EEG. The practice appears to have an amazing variety of neurological benefits – from changes in grey matter volume to reduced activity in the “me” centers of the brain to enhanced connectivity between brain regions. For starters you must start with guided meditation. HeadSpace is an excellent platform to start with, it is also offering special meditations for Covid-19 crisis, head to headspace now. However, headspace is a paid service, if you are not willing to pay, you can try another source at UCLA Mindful Awareness Center, it has various lessons which you can download and listen to or just download UCLA Mindful App from Google Play Store.
3. Learn a language
Foreign languages provide a competitive edge in career choices: one is able to communicate in a second language. Foreign language study enhances listening skills and memory. One participates more effectively and responsibly in a multi-cultural world if one knows another language. What time could be better than this to get started. The best platform to get started is learnalanguage.com, learn-a-language offers languages courses on all known languages on earth, but it also has a disadvantage of not having a very good user experience, it is very dry to the eye. Another platform is Duolingo, which is a more fancier version for learning new languages. Duolingo teaches language by gamification of their courses which adapts to your learning style and the best part is Duolingo is free forever. Give it a try today!
2. Update your CV
More and more, job roles are requiring formal training qualifications either because of legislative requirements or to meet the requirements of specific employers. Developing your skills through further training provides significant benefits including:
- Increased Employment Opportunities.
- Increased Career Development Opportunities.
- Personal Growth.
- Increase your Knowledge and Understanding of your local industry.
Before lockdown, the idea of building wider skills might not have been very high up on your priority list. Rather than putting it off any longer, why not give your CV a total makeover? Use this present period to work towards an even brighter future.

1. Watch all of Shakespeare's plays
When you hear Shakespeare, you think of the play Merchant Of Venice, about which we only have read. Why not use this time to explore more of such brilliant plays of Shakespeare. You can get a complete list of all the plays by date and its narrations and the characters involved at open source Shakespeare. If you want to make things more interesting, head towards The Show Must Go Online, a project started by actor and director Robert Myles, where a cast from around the world plays all Shakespeare's Dramas over video. They are going through them in the order which they're believed to have been written.
Bonus: Watch MARVEL Films in order
Marvel CU is the largest movie franchise ever and who has not messed up in the finale as you see Game of Thrones (TV Show), How I Met Your Mother (TV series) messed their such legit legacy of seasons in the finale. Even Marvel rivalry DC Multiverse screwed up their Justice League (2017 movie) after uniting all the superheroes in a single movie. Marvel is like none of them. Marvel is also loved because along with their incredible stories, they also put loads of humor, that a makes a person love those movies even more. Above that, they pay attention to origin stories, and nail them. Like Doctor Strange or Ant Man or even Guardians of the Galaxy. Use this GUIDE to watch the films in order.
